FASHIONABLE AND PROFESSIONAL

Today's look is a bit professional or "put together" for better lack of words, its clean and crisp yet comfortable. I recently became a sales associate at New York & Co. ^_^  and this is what i chose to wear for the first day. I found these really cute pants at Wal-mart for 9.94.
They are an essential wardrobe piece that you can dress up or dress down. When looking for staple pieces in your wardrobe don't be afraid to try places like Walmart and thrift stores they often have a great selection of basics and you will be sure to save a lot of money. I paired them with my black Miami Fashion week shirt, a Black Blazer and my Chunky Heels.

Chunky heel trend for 2013

The 70's are coming back in a fashionable way! I have been seeing a lot of chunky heels lately, at first I was so against this trend until I ran across these little beauties
I found them at a place I never think to shop.... Cato! Yes Cato, for those of you who live in the south you know what I'm talking about. I don't know if they have stores out West or up North ,but they have a lot of very cute and trendy styles, plus they are almost always having a sale!  I paid 11.99 they were originally 24.99 and I'm absolutely in love with them. An added bonus is that they are very comfortable to wear because of the support you get from the heel being chunky. I will be posting a look with these soon to show how I would style them!

Floral Print with Color (featuring thrifted shoes)

Theres nothing that makes me feel more feminine than a nice floral printed dress. These are great for summer and spring, a simple printed dress lets you get creative with your outfits because it allows you to mix and match your look with various accessories and belts. So that old dress hanging in the back of your closet bring it back to life with a waist belt and bright jewelry. Youll be sure to turn heads this summer. Get creative and stay inspired

Happy Styling,

Thrift Store finds

Happy Saturday guys! Today i just wanted to share a little thrift store find that i picked up the other day. They are these wedged heels from Forever21 ,which originally retail for about $24.00.  I found them for $6.99 they were gently used and had  a few stains on them that i got out with apple cider vinegar, water, and little dish detergent. When thrift shopping try and go when you don't have anything else to do so that you are able to really take your time because you can find some really nice pieces. Like these shoes! they look practically new and the best part I saved money of course!

Happy Thrifting and Good Luck

Edgey Denim

Denim has become my new love/obsession this year. You cant go anywhere without seeing highwaisted denim shorts and vests. I've looked online and seen them sold for like 50 bucks but of course me being the penny pinching college student that I am I decided to make my own. I got a pair of men's jeans from the thrift store for about 3 bucks (Size 29x30) and went to town with a pair of scissors. Of course you can watch Youtube to figure out how to correctly cut them but I just eyed them (Probably not the best idea). Next on my list of things I love this year are cropped fringed shirts. I think its really cool to use a printed tee with your favorite celebrity or music artisit. (I used Marilyn Monroe) Shirts like this are probably best worn when you want to go for a edgier night time look. Finally add a bold red lip and you're ready to go! Remember your personal style is your chance to express yourself and be creative so have fun and happy styling!

Spring Make up Tutorial

The best thing about spring makeup is being able to play  around with fresh vibrant colors. I like to start with a freshly washed faced and my favorite moisturizer. Next I apply my liquid foundation and concealer, followed by my eye shadow primer and the eye shadows of my choice. I usually go for a more gold or bronze look but for spring I like to use browns and light maroon and pinks. After mascara and eyeliner have been apply i lightly dust my cheeks with my blush. To give this look more jazz I finish off with my Victoria's secret lipstick in the shade intensity.

Victoria's Secert Lipstick in Intensity $15 (featured in the picture above)

From Wet and Wild $1.95 each Surpizingly these each have long lasting color and do not flake
Blush from Cover Girl in PlumBerry Glow about  $4.95 at Walmart
Eye Shadow pallet by ELF

I Hope this gives you all some inspiration for spring!
Good Luck and Happy Styling
